Honda Turbocharger Lines
Three lines, and that really is the whole list for South Africa. Find yours, then send the engine code and we will confirm the exact unit.
L15B7 & L15BE
The turbo most Honda owners in South Africa are actually looking for. Honda used the 1.5 VTEC Turbo to replace the naturally aspirated 1.8 in the Civic FC and to power the CR-V RW, so these are the two cars that bring people to this page. Order the oil feed and return lines at the same time. A fresh turbo behind a restricted oil feed does not stay fresh for long.
- L15B7 1.5 Turbo: Civic FC
- L15B7 1.5 Turbo: CR-V RW
- L15BE 1.5 Turbo: later Civic and CR-V
- Oil feed and return lines, intercooler, boost pipework
K20C1 (Civic Type R)
The K20C1 is the turbocharged 2.0 in the Civic Type R FK. Very few of these came to South Africa compared with the ordinary Civic, so this is a call-first line rather than something sitting on the shelf every week. We source it through the network when we do not have one in the yard, and we will tell you honestly how long that will take rather than take an order we cannot fill.
- K20C1 2.0 Turbo: Civic Type R FK
- Boost pipework and intercooler
- Oil feed and return lines
N22A i-CTDi & N22B i-DTEC
Every Honda 2.2 diesel is turbocharged, which makes these our steadiest turbo lines. The N22A i-CTDi went into the Accord, CR-V and FR-V; the N22B i-DTEC followed it in the Accord and CR-V. The two are not interchangeable, so give us the engine code rather than the model year. On a diesel it is worth clearing oil out of the intercooler and intake before the replacement goes on.
- N22A 2.2 i-CTDi: Accord, CR-V, FR-V
- N22B 2.2 i-DTEC: Accord, CR-V
- Intercooler, boost pipes, oil lines
How the Turbo Quote Works
Three steps. The first one often ends with us telling you your Honda never had a turbo.
- 1
Send the engine code
Stamped on the block near the bell-housing. It tells us in seconds whether your car is one of the genuinely turbocharged Hondas, and which of the two 2.2 diesel units you have.
- 2
We quote used and reconditioned
Both, side by side. We will add the oil feed and return lines to the quote. A fresh turbo behind a restricted feed does not stay fresh for long.
- 3
Boxed and couriered
Shaft play checked, housings strapped to a foam core in a heavy-walled box, dispatched to any province in 2β5 business days.

Honda Turbochargers in Lenasia & Across South Africa
We will start with the honest bit, because it saves everyone time: Honda kept most of its South African range naturally aspirated. The turbocharged cars are the 1.5 VTEC Turbo Civic and CR-V, the Civic Type R, and the 2.2 i-CTDi and i-DTEC diesels in the Accord, CR-V and FR-V. Those are the units we stock at 666 Cromwell Street in Lenasia South. If you are chasing a fault on a Honda FR-V components that never had a turbo, phone us anyway. We would rather point you at the right part on your used Ballade spares than sell you something that will not fix it.
Customers in the greater Johannesburg area collect the same day or take local delivery. That covers Sandton, Midrand, Randburg, Alberton, Soweto and the surrounding suburbs. We are just off the N12, so it is an easy run for workshops and DIY fitters across Gauteng. Walk in Monday to Friday 8:00β17:00 or Saturday morning 8:30β12:30.
If a turbo came apart and put debris through the exhaust side, bolting on a replacement solves half the problem. Get us to quote a cylinder head alongside it so the new turbo is not working against damaged valves. If the damage went further, a complete engine assembly is the sensible spend instead.
We dispatch turbos to every province in South Africa. Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein, Pretoria, Polokwane, Nelspruit and East London usually receive within 2β5 working days. Call 078 574 3998, WhatsApp us your engine code, or browse our affordable Jazz parts page.

Honda Turbochargers: Common Questions
Which Hondas actually have a turbocharger?
Fewer than most people expect. Honda stayed naturally aspirated across most of its South African range, so the turbocharged cars are a short list: the L15B7 and L15BE 1.5 VTEC Turbo in the Civic FC and the CR-V RW, the K20C1 2.0 VTEC Turbo in the Civic Type R FK, and the 2.2 diesels (the N22A i-CTDi and the N22B i-DTEC) in the Accord, CR-V and FR-V. If your Honda is not one of those, it almost certainly does not have a turbo, and the fault you are chasing is somewhere else.
My Honda is not on that list. What should I be looking at instead?
On a naturally aspirated Honda, symptoms people blame on a turbo usually come from somewhere else entirely: a tired coil pack or plugs, a dirty throttle body, a leaking inlet manifold gasket, a clogged catalytic converter, or worn valve clearances. Tell us the model, the engine code and what the car is doing, and we will point you at the part that is actually likely to be at fault rather than sell you something you do not need.
Used turbo versus reconditioned: what is the difference?
A used turbo is pulled from a low-mileage donor car and checked for axial and radial shaft play before it goes out. A reconditioned turbo has the centre rotating assembly replaced (new shaft, bearings and seals) while keeping the original housings. Used is quicker and cheaper; reconditioned takes the uncertainty out. We will quote both so the choice is yours.
Can I just swap the turbo, or does the engine need work too?
If the turbo went gradually (a whine, a loss of boost, oil in the intake pipework) and the engine still runs cleanly without a misfire, a turbo swap is usually enough. Clean the intercooler and intake of oil residue first, or the new unit will pull the same oil straight back through. If the turbo came apart and sent debris into the engine, expect to look at the head as well, because the exhaust valves take the damage first.
Do you supply the oil lines and pipework with the turbo?
We stock them and we recommend them. A turbo lives or dies on clean oil supply, so fitting a used turbo behind a partly blocked oil feed line is a false economy. We keep oil feed and return lines, intercoolers and boost pipework off the same donor cars, so you can order the turbo and its plumbing in one go.
How quickly can you ship a turbo to Cape Town or Durban?
Turbos ship in a heavy-walled box with the housings strapped to a foam core. Cape Town and Durban usually arrive in 3β5 working days, Bloemfontein and Polokwane in 2β3, and same-day courier is available across the greater Johannesburg area. Call 078 574 3998 or send a WhatsApp and we will come back to you quickly.
Need a quote on a Honda turbo?
