Honda Filters & Maintenance Parts in South Africa

Honda engines have a reputation for lasting because the design is sound and because owners service them. Filters are the cheapest line on the whole service sheet and the one most often skipped when money is tight — and skipping them is how a D-series, K-series or L-series that would have run for years quietly gets ruined. Dusty South African conditions and variable fuel quality make this category matter more here than in most markets.

What sits in this category. We stock oil filters for every Honda engine on local roads (the D-series, B-series, F-series, H-series, K-series, L-series and R-series petrols plus the i-DTEC diesels), pleated paper and high-flow air filter elements, fuel filters including the water-separating type used on the diesels, transmission service kits for the conventional automatics and for the Honda Multi Matic CVT, standard and activated-carbon cabin filters, and the small service items that come with the job — sump plug crush washers, drain bolts, air box clips and PCV valves.

What Honda owners ask us for most

What Honda owners ask us for most. Oil and air filters for the Civic, Ballade, Jazz and City move in the highest volume simply because those cars dominate the road here. The one that matters most, though, is the CVT service kit. A Honda Multi Matic CVT needs Honda-specification CVT fluid, not generic automatic transmission fluid — putting the wrong fluid in is one of the more expensive mistakes an owner can make, and no amount of draining afterwards fully undoes it. If you drive a Jazz, City, BR-V, HR-V or Civic with a CVT, that is the single service item worth getting right. Diesel CR-V and Accord owners should treat the fuel filter with the same seriousness.

Which Honda models we cover. Filters in regular stock for the Civic, Ballade, Jazz, City, CR-V, Accord, Brio, Amaze, BR-V, HR-V and Mobilio, plus the rest of the local line-up. Send us your engine code — D16A, L15A, R18A, K24A and so on — or just the VIN, and we will confirm the correct filter without you having to work it out yourself.

Tell us which filters & maintenance part you need and which Honda it is going on — we'll come back with availability and delivery.

The more specific the better. The engine code stamped on your block matches a part far more reliably than the model year does.

Filters & Maintenance — Common Questions

How often should Honda filters be replaced?

Follow the schedule in your Honda service book — it is model and engine specific, and we are not going to invent a number for you. What we will say is that if your car lives on gravel, in heavy dust or in stop-start city traffic, most independent workshops bring the air and oil filter changes forward from the book interval. Ask your fitter what they see on cars like yours.

Can I use ordinary ATF in a Honda Multi Matic CVT?

No. The Multi Matic CVT needs Honda-specification CVT fluid. Generic automatic transmission fluid has the wrong friction characteristics for a belt-and-pulley transmission, and using it causes damage that draining and refilling afterwards will not reverse. This is the most important single line on this page — get the fluid right.

Do you stock transmission service kits?

Yes — service kits for both the conventional Honda automatics and the Multi Matic CVT, including the filter or screen, the gasket and the correct Honda-specification fluid. Tell us your model, year and whether the car is a conventional automatic or a CVT, and we will put the right kit together.

Can you match filters to my engine code?

Yes, and it is the fastest route to a correct part. Honda used the same body shell with more than one engine in several models, so the badge on the boot is not enough. Send us the engine code off the block or just the VIN on WhatsApp and we will confirm the oil, air, fuel and cabin filters that fit your exact car.

Not sure which filters & maintenance part you need?

Send us your model, year and VIN — or a photo of the old part — and we will confirm the exact fitment before anything ships.
