Prelude H22A 2.2 VTEC Engine
We pull complete Prelude engines with the ancillaries still on them, and can supply a bare block or a short motor instead where that is all the job calls for. Quote the code stamped on the block along with your year — Honda changed engine families between generations.
Prelude 5-Speed Manual Gearbox
Manual boxes come out of the donor Prelude complete with the bellhousing and the selector linkage, and we turn the input shaft by hand before one goes on the shelf. Tell us the engine it is bolting to — ratios and bellhousing patterns are not shared across the range.
Prelude Pop-Up Headlight
Where we have them, the pop-up units come with the lift motor and the surround, which is the hard part to find. Say which side you need, and whether the motor on yours still runs.
Prelude Cylinder Head
Heads come off the donor Prelude engine complete with cams and valves, or bare if you are having yours reconditioned. Tell us which you want and quote the casting number if you can still read it.
Prelude Bonnet
Bonnets come off straight cars only, and we check the hinge mounts and the leading edge for stone damage. They are bulky to move, so mention your town with the enquiry and we work out the delivery with you.
Prelude Door
Doors go out as a bare shell, or complete with the glass, regulator, trim and lock — say which suits the job. Tell us the side and the year, and whether the colour has to match, so we pick the closest shell on the racks.

Can you get H22A VTEC engines?
The H22A 2.2 DOHC VTEC is the engine everyone asks for, and it is the reason most Prelude enquiries come in. Supply depends entirely on what comes into the yard — enthusiast cars do not get scrapped often. Ask and we will tell you honestly what we have.
Do you stock pop-up headlights for the BA8?
Yes, when we have them. The pop-up headlight assemblies on the BA8 (1992-1996) are one of the harder Prelude parts to find and one of the most requested. The BB6 from 1997 moved to fixed headlights, so the two do not cross.
Why are Prelude parts so scarce in South Africa?
Volumes were small and the surviving cars are mostly in the hands of enthusiasts who keep them rather than scrap them. Most of our Prelude enquiries are restorations rather than everyday repairs, which is exactly why used parts are the only route.
