The RD5, the RE and the RM that followed differ enough that a part off one will not simply drop into the next — mounting points shift, looms change, and sensor plugs pick up a different pin count even where the bracket looks identical. An RE-generation part being forced onto an RM is the single most common mismatch we head off on the phone. The Accord tells the same story: the CG and CD cars ran the F23A 2.3 VTEC, then the CL brought the switch to the K-series and the K24A 2.4, with a different block, a different gearbox mating face and a different loom. What We Check Before a Part Leaves

Every used engine and gearbox is compression-tested or bench-checked before it goes on the van, and the donor vehicle's mileage goes onto the invoice. Smaller mechanical and electronic parts — sensors, fuel pumps, ignition coils, ECUs — are continuity- or function-tested wherever the equipment allows it. Panels and trim get looked over for hidden corrosion, old panel beater filler and previous repair work. The parts warranty runs from the invoice date and covers the unit itself; fitment sits with whoever installs it, which is another good reason to use one of the Honda-experienced workshops on your doorstep.
